Specialty Recycling and Surplus Pickups

Harvard Recycling & Waste Services picks up items for specialty recycling and items for reuse through the Surplus Center. Accepted items include: 

• Furniture
• Office supplies and fixtures
• Dorm items: mattresses, donations, clothes, household items
• Electronic waste
• Universal waste
• Scrap metal
• Pallets and scrap wood
• Plastic film 

We cannot pick up the following items: 

• Construction and demolition waste
• Hazardous waste
• Large amounts of donations (we can accept larger amounts of donations through movers)

Delivery Service

Harvard Recycling can deliver the following materials: 

• Event waste containers for temporary use
• Hampers for office cleanouts
• Donation bins for dorm move-outs
• Claimed office furniture from the Surplus Center 

Ready to Schedule?

To schedule a pickup, delivery, or inform us of a delivery to Surplus, please use the Recycling Request through the Customer Portal:

• To request a Harvard Recycling pickup, use "Bulk Pick Up by Recycling"
• To request a delivery to Harvard Recycling & Surplus, use "Customer Delivery to Recycling Warehouse". Please give advance notice for large deliveries.
• To request signage or temporary containers, use "Container/Signage Drop Off".
• To request delivery of claimed Surplus furniture, reach out to the department contacts listed above.

Please note that Harvard Recycling cannot pick up from buildings that we don't service for trash and recycling. We are also unable to pick up from, or deliver to, non-Harvard entities.
